Bruins Welcome Eight New Players
The 2023 UCLA Bruins women's soccer team is ready to defend its national title. The Bruins, who won the College Cup last season, will welcome eight new players to the roster this year. The new players include five freshmen and three transfers.
The Bruins are led by a strong core of returning players, including All-Americans Ashley Sanchez and Mia Fishel. Sanchez, a forward, was named the College Cup's Most Outstanding Offensive Player last season. Fishel, a midfielder, was named to the All-Pac-12 First Team.
The Bruins will open the season on August 18 against Cal State Fullerton. They will play their first home game on August 21 against Pepperdine.
The Bruins are confident that they can repeat as national champions this season. They have a talented roster and a lot of experience.
